FAQS

Want to know more about how the ISOsink Lite might benefit your controlled environment facility management? Click the plus symbols (right) to check out some of the most Frequently Asked Questions related to this product!

  • What is the difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel?

304-grade stainless steel offers strong corrosion resistance and is suitable for most general cleanroom and laboratory environments. 316-grade contains molybdenum, providing superior resistance to chlorides, acids, and harsh chemicals.

  • Can this basin be used in GMP or ISO-classified cleanrooms?

Yes. The unit is designed for controlled environments and can be specified with 316 stainless steel, seamless welds, and hygienic tapware. It complies with industry best practices for cleanroom hygiene and cleanability.

  • Are custom sizes or configurations available?

Absolutely. Guardware offers full customisation, including bespoke bowl dimensions, splashback height, frame finish, tap positioning, and drainage layout. Please contact our team for tailored solutions.

  • What tap options can be fitted?

    The basin supports multiple configurations:

Pre-rinse spray arms for high-powered cleaning
Standard mixer taps for temperature control
Separate hot and cold taps for regulated water segregation
Sensor-activated and hands-free controls are also available on request

  • Can the frame be floor-fixed or mobile?

The standard frame includes adjustable feet for level positioning. A fixed version (with floor brackets) or mobile version (with locking castors) can be specified depending on your application needs.

  • Is installation support available?

Yes. Guardware and Guardtech provide full installation services or can supply the unit as part of a modular cleanroom or lab fit-out package. Installation instructions are also available for third-party contractors.

  • What cleaning agents are safe to use?

Most non-abrasive, pH-neutral and alcohol-based cleaning agents are safe for 304 and 316 stainless steel. For harsher cleaning protocols, we recommend 316-grade steel and always advise rinsing surfaces after chemical exposure.

  • Why use stainless steel for cleanroom sinks?

Stainless steel is ideal for cleanroom sinks because it’s:

Hygienic – Smooth, non-porous surface that’s easy to clean and won’t trap bacteria.
Chemical-Resistant – Handles strong cleaning agents without corroding (especially 316-grade).
Durable – Tough, long-lasting, and resistant to damage from heat or heavy use.
Compliant – Meets strict standards for pharmaceutical, medical, and lab environments.
Low Maintenance – Easy to keep clean with minimal effort.
Sustainable – 100% recyclable and built to last.
