  • Description

Engineered for hygiene-critical environments, this ISOsink Max basin solution combines high-performance materials and functional design for seamless cleanroom or laboratory operation.

The phenolic resin basin option is seamlessly recessed into the Sealwise worksurface, eliminating dirt traps and ensuring long-term structural integrity under routine disinfection protocols. Alternatively, you can opt for a solid, fully Sealwise construction.

Grooves in the top surface provide controlled water runoff, enhancing hygiene and reducing contamination risks by directing liquid away and into the basin without pooling. The Sealwise Waterproof Construction Board (WCB) is an easy-clean surface with built-in silver ion anti-microbial protection. Sealwise offers exceptional chemical and microbial resistance and is waterproof.

  • What is Sealwise™ and why is it suitable for cleanroom sinks?

Sealwise™ Waterproof Construction Board (WCB) is a non-wood, closed-cell PVC-based board designed specifically for hygienic environments. It features:

100% waterproof composition – no swelling, rotting, or delamination

Smooth, sealed surfaces – ideal for high-frequency cleaning protocols

Built-in antimicrobial silver ion technology – inhibits microbial growth on contact

Non-shedding and low-outgassing – compliant with ISO cleanroom standards

These properties make Sealwise™ a robust, hygienic, and sustainable alternative to traditional MDF or laminate worktops in cleanrooms, labs, and medical environments.

  • What is phenolic resin and why is it used for the basin?

Phenolic resin is a high-pressure thermoset plastic formed by pressing layers of paper or fabric under heat and pressure with phenolic resin. It is:

Chemically resistant – withstands acids, alkalis, solvents, and cleaning agents

Non-porous – will not absorb water or harbor bacteria

Heat-resistant – safe for exposure to hot water and sterilisation routines

    Durable and scratch-resistant – long-lasting even in heavy-use environments

This makes phenolic resin an excellent material for a utility sink in cleanroom or laboratory settings, where frequent chemical use and cleaning are standard.

  • Why is this integrated sink solution a better option than stainless steel?

While stainless steel is a strong choice, this integrated solution offers several key advantages:

Seamless integration – no lip, join, or crevice between the basin and worktop
Better chemical resistance – phenolic resin resists harsher agents than some grades of stainless steel
Non-metallic surfaces – reduces risk of interference in sensitive environments (e.g., MRI rooms, microelectronics labs)
Groove drainage – directs water efficiently while maintaining cleanroom compliance
